About
Following in the footsteps of 1970’s international type specimen newsprints and type foundries journals, Diorama Type Partners is an independent publisher of typefaces and typographic products related, home of the contemporary art magazine Revue Diorama based in Paris. Founded by Marie-Mam Sai Bellier and Guillaume Sbalchiero (designers and editors) in an effort to promote a catalogue of diverse and heterogeneous typefaces through the medium of a carefully crafted magazine, Diorama Type Partners has evolved into being more than a type publisher to a creative digital platform with RaDio.
1. Type Foundry
The Diorama Type Foundry draws inspiration from the 1970’s era of type specimen newsprint to offer a high-end digital version of its own classic yet distinctive typefaces displayed throughout the revues. The foundry and the magazine complement and nourish each other by constantly interacting as each typeface travels back and forth from the magazine to the foundry and vice versa. Our catalog is principaly an exploration of display typefaces, ideal for strong titling identities and logotypes, sometimes aesthetic, historic, horrific and memorable.
2. Revue
The revue operates on a principle of correspondences: a thought, a quote —composed graphically— is sent to contributors from various creative domains. Shifting between different fields such as graphic design, art, literature or photography; but also opening up to less specific approaches, the purpose of the revue is to confront all of these points of view enhence a new international creative scene. The editorial team then gives shape to these contents in a bespoke way for each issue of Revue Diorama with typography experimentations and creation.
3. Publishing
The shop part works on the principle of collections of editorial and typographical objects revolving around themes of art and design research, confronting the past with the young creative scene. We distribute certain products designed by one of the team members or a DTP partner, which allows us to keep an coherent editorial line. RaDio page permit to discover more storytelling and chronicles about our products and quality contents by artists from our magazine. Ponctually some event will be organized at our studio rue Sainte Marthe in Paris, subscribe to our newsletter to stay in touch!
