UNE AUTRE ORIGINE DU MONDE
Une autre origine du monde is a photography book by Romain Lenancker edited by Diorama Type Partners which is an organic si-fi research through sculptures and lights (no 3D). Micro to macro, in a lost of scales, Romain Lenancker explore notion of life, materials, and other planets. As a scientific ouvrage, the alien univers is also represented by the typographic research that accompanied the images. Tailor-made cryptic alphabet dialogue into the summary with the editorial as a card of the galaxy that Lenancker rises with beauty.
Une autre origine du monde shows 4 years of work, a journey through a cosmic saga, a reinvented cartography. In Lenanckers' studio, the creative process is taking place around scultptures, lights, staging, then photography comes erase it all to makes place to an epure style. It makes us forget the handicraft, the object is decontextualized by his scale and his material. All those competences (set, model making and photography) are controlled by Romain Lenancker so there is a certain freedom in the creative process. These images are as much particles, planets, bubbles, as waves filling the universe, leaving it open to interpretation. Between a formal abstraction and a place for every object in a personal alphabet.
