Bet typeface is drawn on the basis of three documents found at the Museum of Printing in Lyon from a specimen of wood-type letters for posters from the printing house Jacoby & Fils in Grenoble. It is a typeface with monstrous and misshapen gestures playing a stylistic hybridization of its time; the 19th century in Italy and some Art Nouveau tonalities. For the first issue of Revue Diorama, we chose Bet to compose the logotype and then introduce the definition of diorama on the opening pages as an organic and monumental typographic generic. Bet is available in one weight “Bold” for display type settings. The font covers Latin extended languages with more than 400 glyphs and includes the latest open type functionalities, with several alternates. With its bold proportions, Bet is a perfect typeface for identity projects and titling design. We invite you to play between uppercase and lowercase within words to design a singular silhouette to your texts.
